The Bible and Time

—In the Bible a day can mean different things
—I will tell of the decree of the LORD: He said to me, “You are my son, today I have begotten you. (Psa 2:7 RSVA)
—Today here refers to the incarnation, which happened more than a thousand year from when the Psalm was written.
—As I looked, thrones were placed and one that was ancient of days (Dan 7:9)
—Ancient of days refers to God’s eternal existence
—the sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood, before the day of the Lord comes, the great and manifest day. (Act 2:20 RSVA)
—Day here stands for Day of Judgment and the end of time
—And can mean an actual day

—But do not ignore this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. (2Pe 3:8 RSVA)
—For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, or as a watch in the night. (Psa 90:4 RSVA)
—In Daniel, In the 70 weeks prophecy the day stands for a year. Dan 9:24-27
—”And you shall count seven weeks of years, seven times seven years, so that the time of the seven weeks of years shall be to you forty-nine years. (Lev 25:8 RSVA)

—Genesis 1: The overall summary of the creation of the universe and earth
—The Bible describes this as 6 days
—Genesis 2: The focus is on the creation of Man
—These are the generations of the heavens and the earth when they were created. In the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens, (Gen 2:4 RSVA)
—Is the creation One day, Six days, or a period of time?
